ClassLink Rostering with Full-Based Permission

ClassLink integration with ClassSwift ensures that class rosters remain accurate and up to date. Follow the steps below to configure and sync ClassLink with ClassSwift.

Grant Full Access Permission for Your School and District

To grant full access permissions, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to ClassLink LaunchPad.
  2. Navigate to Roster Server > Apps > All Applications.
  3. Search for ClassSwift and add it with Full Permissions.

Assign ClassSwift to Users’ LaunchPad

To assign ClassSwift to users, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Management Console.
  2. Click Add & Assign Apps from the menu, then search for ClassSwift.
  3. Assign the app to Tenant Administrator, Teachers, and Students by clicking Add.
  4. Verify that the ClassSwift Hub icon appears on all users’ LaunchPad homepage.

Log In to ClassSwift Hub

To access the ClassSwift Hub, complete the following:

  1. Click the ClassSwift icon from your LaunchPad to open the ClassSwift Hub.
  2. Use ClassLink SSO to sign in.

Authorize ClassLink API

To authorize the ClassLink API, follow these steps:

  1. In the ClassSwift Hub, go to Settings and click Connect under the ClassLink section.
  2. Under Step 2: Identify and Authorize ClassLink API, click Sign-in with ClassLink.
  3. Enter your ClassLink credentials.
  4. Verify that the Tenant ID is automatically populated.

Review the ClassLink Roster Data

To review the roster data, perform the following:

  1. Click Sync All to proceed to the Manage Roster Data page.
  2. Review the roster data retrieved from ClassLink.

    Hover over the warning symbol to view the number of classes exceeding the 50-student limit. These classes cannot be synced.

Sync the Roster Data to ClassSwift

To sync the roster data, choose one of the following options:

Option 1: Sync All Data

  1. Click Sync All to sync all data at once.
  2. Click Confirm. The sync status will display IMPORTING.
  3. Click Refresh to update the status. Once syncing is complete, the status will change to IMPORTED.

    Note: If the status shows FAILED, click Details to view the error message.

Option 2: Sync Selected Data

  1. Select the specific data you want to sync to ClassSwift and click Sync.
  2. Click Confirm. The sync status will display IMPORTING.
  3. Click Refresh to update the status. Once syncing is complete, the status will change to IMPORTED.

    Note: If the status shows FAILED, click Details to view the error message.
