True / false quiz type

Use the Quiz feature in ClassSwift to create quick, one-question assessments designed to check understanding, spark discussions, or add a fun challenge during class. Teachers can create a quiz instantly by:

  • Using the ClassSwift toolbar during class, or 
  • Preparing them in advance in Pre-Class mode. All saved quizzes are stored in the Quiz Collection for future use.

Select the Quiz Type

The selected Quiz type determines the options students will use to answer the question.  The True/False quiz type allows for rapid comprehension checks, graded pop quizzes, or discussion starters. To create a True/False quiz, follow these steps:

  1. Login and enter a class.
  2. Select the Start Lesson button. 
    Note the new icons on the ClassSwift toolbar. On this toolbar:
    1. Select Quiz from the toolbar.
    2. Select True/False from the menu.

Tap the True-false option from the Quiz menu.

Capture content

Now wait for the message 'Drag and select the area to create quiz' to appear, then perform the following. 

  1. Drag your mouse over the content you wish to capture for the quiz.
  2. On release, the captured area is displayed on a new window.
  3. On the new window, select Start Quiz to: 
    1. Show the Results panel. 
    2. Begin accepting responses.
    3. Alternatively, use Select again to capture a new area.

Tap and drag to capture the area to be used as your quiz question.

Collect responses

Monitor the Results panel as students respond. 

  1. Answers will populate as True or False.
  2. Select End Quiz to stop receiving responses.
  3. You will be prompted to share the correct answer with the class.
  4. Select Disclose to show the results. 

Wait for everyone to send their responses.

Review reponses

One the results are shown, review answers with the class or transition into a discussion. Use the following features to facilitate class activity.

 

On the left panel, use the following icons to review response data as a:

  •  Summary 
  •  Pie chart

 

On the right panel, use the following icons to perform additional actions: 

  • Summary. Show result totals.
  • View all . Show individual responses 
  • Random Draw. Randomly select a student for discussion. 
  • -Maximize. Expand the quiz window to fill the screen.

Closing the quiz

Once the quiz is over, perform the following:

  1. Select the Close icon to dismiss the quiz window. 
  2. Select the End Lesson button.
  3. Select End lesson and return to confirm.

All quizzes captured in this session are saved to your temporary collection and kept for 30 days. If you need to review this collection after your class:

  1. Login to myViewBoard Hub.
  2. Click Quiz Collection on the side panel.
  3. Click Captured Quizzes.  
     
  4. Perform one of the following:
    1. Hover over a quiz and click View details to review the capture. 
      Use the left and right buttons to navigate through all the items.
    2. Select a capture and click Delete to remove it from the list. 
      Note that this action cannot be undone. 
    3. Select a capture and click Move to place the capture in another folder. 
      This prevents the capture from expiring and allows re-use for future sessions.
