Companion sign in on a ViewBoard

Selected ViewBoard models allow automatic sign-in to your ViewSonic account via the Companion app.

 

Prerequisites

Verify first that your ViewBoard meets the conditions below:

  • Your ViewBoard model has vLauncher 3.0 or the ViewBoard Launcher selected as its active launcher. The Google Launcher on EDLA devices is not supported.
  • Your ViewBoard is connected to a stable network that has access to the internet.

 

Sign in process

Once you are sure that your ViewBoard supports Companion sign in, Follow the steps below:

 

On the Companion app:

First, sign in to the Companion app as Host to access the QR code scanner feature. 
 

  1. Launch the Companion app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on the Host / IT Admin icon to sign in.  
  3. Use the popup to sign in with a ViewSonic admin account.  
  4. On the next screen, locate the QR code icon. 
    We will use this feature on the next section to perform the sign in.

On the ViewBoard IFP:

Afterwards, prepare the ViewBoard by loading up the Sign In screen:

  1. Turn on the ViewBoard and ensure that it is connected to a network.
  2. Tap Sign In on the ViewBoard's start-up screen. 
    Locate the QR code on the right. Note that every IFP has a unique QR code.
     
  3. Now use the Companion app to scan this QR code.
    1. Tap the QR code icon to launch the device camera 
    2. This opens your device's camera app. 
    3. Grant permissions if needed. 
    4. Adjust the camera position so the the QR code is inside the scanning area.   
  4. A successful scan will trigger the sign in process on your ViewBoard and start loading your settings.
