Import slides

Use the Import slides feature to convert existing teaching materials into classroom-ready lessons. Once converted, lessons are saved to a connected cloud storage account and are available to preview and deliver directly from the My library section.

Click the Import slides button in the My library section.

Before you start

Before proceeding, verify the following requirements are met:

• A ViewSonic account is signed in
• At least one cloud storage account connected (Google Drive or OneDrive)
   

Supported files

The following file types and sources are supported for import.

File sources

This feature currently supports importing files from the following sources:

• Google Drive 
  Connect a Google account, then browse and select files directly.
   
• OneDrive 
  Connect a Microsoft account, then browse and select files directly.
   
• Local 
  Upload a file from a local computer. Requires at least one connected cloud account.

You can import slides from several sources.

Supported file types

The following file types can be imported.

Note the following behavior:

• Maximum file size is 350 MB.
• Only one file is allowed per import.

Import slides

Follow the steps below to import and convert a file into a lesson in Hub.

1. In Hub, click My library from the left sidebar.
2. On the main panel, click Import slides.
    
3. Select a source: 
   1. Google Drive
   2. OneDrive
   3. Local
        
4. Check the Default saving location to confirm where the converted file will be saved. Note the following behavior:
   • This option is only available if you already granted permissions to both your Google Drive and OneDrive accounts. 
   • You can change the default storage before proceeding. If changed, this will only affect files imported after the change; files already saved are not moved.
      
5. Browse and select the file to import. 
6. Wait for the conversion to complete. A progress indicator will appear while Hub converts the file to .olf format and saves it to the target cloud storage. Conversion typically takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on file size.
7. The converted lesson appears in My library  »  All Lessons, ready to preview and deliver to class.

Verify the preview

After a lesson is imported, open it from the My library section to preview every page before teaching. Confirm the content converted correctly and the slides are in the right order.

To verify a successful import, check if the following folder exists in your cloud account:

• The import process automatically creates a folder in the connected cloud under the following name: 
  • myViewBoard  »  Library (formatted as Library_{OrgName} per organization)
      
• Do not move, rename, or delete this folder or any files inside it from the cloud provider's website. Hub will not be able to locate the lesson and it will show an error.

The Hub will save all imported OLF files inside the Library_{OrgName} folder in the user's cloud.

If you need to edit your imported files, the following conditions apply:

Open a lesson in myViewBoard

Lessons imported through Hub are accessible directly from the myViewBoard app. Follow the steps below to load a lesson during class.

1. Launch the myViewBoard app.
2. Sign in with a ViewSonic account.
3. Click the 📁 File Manager icon on the main toolbar.
    
4. On the new popup: 
   1. Click my Library to view all lessons imported into Hub.
   2. Locate and click the lesson to load it into myViewBoard.
       
5. Start presenting once the lesson has completed loading.
