Sync grades to Canvas
myViewBoard Hub allows teachers to send quiz results to the Canvas gradebook, via a one-way sync process. Quiz results appear as an assignment score in Canvas. Note the following behavior:
- Teachers can manually select which questions count toward the grade. This allows teachers to exclude warm-up questions from the sync.
- Each sync creates an assignment entry in Canvas that uses the class and lesson time as the entry name.
To ensure that the sync is successful, verify first that:
- The district's Canvas roster is setup with the correct write scopes.
- The teacher signed in through their Canvas account.
- The students joined the class through their Canvas IDs.
End the class
First, finish the lesson and end the class to save the results to myViewBoard Hub.
- Ensure all questions presented had reached their results screen.
- Click the Join Class icon on the main toolbar.
- On the Join Class window, click End class.
All responses collected during the session are saved with the lesson in myViewBoard Hub. Note that results are not saved to myViewBoard Hub if any of the following conditions are true:
❌ Quizzes started with a One-time class are not saved.
❌ Quizzes manually closed before the results screen are not saved.
To start a new quiz: Once the End class action is triggered, you will need to go through the class selection process again. Once this new session ends (by clicking End class again), it will appear as another entry in myViewBoard Hub.

Troubleshooting
Common errors and how to resolve them.
⚠️
Sync data to Canvas is not available.
Confirm with your admin that the Canvas roster is connected and that the key includes the two write scopes.
⚠️
The sync status shows as failed.
Use the Grade Sync History window first to investigate why the sync failed. Fix the issue, then run the sync again. If it keeps failing, ask your admin to confirm if the Developer key assigned to myViewBoard is still enabled in Canvas.
