Import questions

Use the Import question feature to convert existing files into ready-to-use interactive questions. This eliminates the need to rebuild questions by hand. 

 

  • The conversion can detect questions automatically from supported files, preserving images and diagrams in the process. 
  • Once imported, questions are saved in Quiz Collection and readily accessible during class.

 

Before you start

Before proceeding, verify the following requirements are met:

 

  • A ViewSonic account is signed in.
  • The file to upload is available on the local computer

 

 

Supported files

The following file types and sources are supported for import.

 

File sources

This feature currently supports importing files from the following sources:

 

  • Google Drive 
    Connect a Google account, then browse and select files directly.
     
  • OneDrive 
    Connect a Microsoft account, then browse and select files directly.
     
  • Local 
    Upload a file from a local computer.

 

Supported file types

The following file types can be imported.

 

File type Extension
Image .jpg, .png
PDF .pdf
Word Document .docx

 

Note the following behavior:

  • Maximum file size is 10 MB.
  • Only one file is allowed per import. 
  • Only multiple-choice, true/false, and short-answer questions are supported. 
  • For multiple-choice and true/false questions, make sure that all answer options are visible/included in the upload.

 

Import questions

Follow the steps below to import questions.

 

  1. In Hub, click Quiz collection from the left sidebar.
  2. Click Import Questions.
     
  3. Select a source: 
    1. Google Drive
    2. OneDrive
    3. Local
        
  4. Browse and select the file to import.
  5. Hub scans the file and detects questions automatically. Images, diagrams, and picture-based answer choices are preserved during this process.
  6. Review the detected questions and select which ones to keep.
  7. The imported questions are saved to Quiz Collection.

 

Review imported questions

Before using questions in class, review them to confirm the content was detected correctly.

 

  • Click Edit on any question to modify question text, update answer choices, remove unnecessary options, or set the correct answer.
  • Questions with images can be reviewed to ensure diagrams and visuals carried over as expected.

 

 

Use questions with myViewBoard

Imported questions are accessible directly from the myViewBoard app. Follow the steps below to dispatch questions to students during class.

 

  1. Launch the myViewBoard app.
  2. Sign in with a ViewSonic account.
     
  3. On the main toolbar: 
    1. Toggle on the Quiz Tool icon.
    2. Select or create a class to allow students to join.
       
  4. Click Quiz Collection on the main toolbar.
    1. Select questions prepared in Hub.
    2. Click Dispatch to send the question to students. 
    3. Begin collecting responses.
