Sketch response question

Use the Quiz Tool to create quick, one-question assessments designed to check understanding, spark discussions, or add a fun challenge during class. Teachers can create a quiz instantly by:

  • Using the Question feature during class, or
  • Preparing them in advance in myViewBoard Hub.

If a question is created while a user is logged in with the ViewSonic account, all questions created during class are stored in the Quiz Collection section in myViewBoard Hub for future use.

Select the Question Type

The selected Question type determines the options students will use to answer the question. The Sketch response question allows teachers to send multiple images as questions. Students respond by drawing directly on the images provided by the teacher. To create a Sketch response question, follow these steps:

  1. Launch myViewBoard.
  2. Activate the Quiz Tool  toggle.
Note the new icons on the toolbar.

  3. Login and enter a class.
  4. Now, on the toolbar:
    1. Select Question from the toolbar.
    2. Select Sketch response from the menu.

Capture content

Now wait for the message 'Drag and capture the area to create question' to appear, then perform the following.

  1. Drag and hold over the content you wish to capture for the quiz.
  2. On release, the captured area is displayed on a new window.

  3. Use the options on this new window to customize the question content:
    • Capture again. Start a new capture to replace the current screenshot.
    • Delete capture. Remove the current screenshot.
    • Add more questions. Start a new capture to add as a new question in this set.

  4. Afterwards, select Start Question to:
    1. Show the Responses panel.
    2. Begin accepting responses.

  5. Alternatively:
    1. Select Capture again to capture a new area.
    2. Select Cancel question to close the window.

Collect responses

Monitor the Responses panel as students respond.

  1. Each student's info card lights up as answers come in.
  2. Select Stop submissions to stop receiving responses.
  3. The panel updates to display the Overview tab.

Review reponses

Results will be shown in a new Responses panel.

  • Use the Overview tab for overall statistics on class-wide results.
  • Use the Student responses tab for individual answers.

In the Student responses panel:

  • Answers stay hidden by default so students don't see each other's answers early.
  • Tap each individual response card to reveal the responses one at a time. Use the tools provided to add more annotations on the submitted image.
  • For questions with multiple images, use the Previous and Next buttons to switch between images.

Review answers with the class or transition into a discussion. Use the following interactive features to facilitate class activity.

..
..

Options. Click an option bar to instantly highlight every student who chose that option.

⠀⠀

Show students' responses. Show all responses at once. Note that this toggle is disabled for this question type.

⠀⠀
